As Exhibition Chair of the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators (PSI), Lynne Cannoy
authored the prospectus defining the Pittsburgh Recast exhibit to mark the 250th
anniversary of the city and the 10th anniversary of PSI. She organized and oversaw
all aspects of this visual narrative of a city, steeped in history, forging to redefine
and reinvent itself. Assigned as a defined segment in a ninth grade civics course
initiated in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, the exhibit showcased illustration as an
effective and powerful vehicle of visual communication. The ten month museum
exhibition was presented in partnership with the Senator John Heinz History Center
in affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution.
